WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Actor and director Tommy Ford will attend the Purdue University Black Cultural Center's Wednesday (Feb. 3) screening of "Switching Lanes," which he directed. The screening will be at 6 p.m. in the Hillenbrand Residence Hall Dining Court.

Prior to the screening there will be a soul food dinner in the dining court's atrium. The menu includes fried chicken, Dixie crunch catfish, mustard greens and chicken gumbo. Cost of the dinner is $12.63, tax included. The dinner is open to the public. Students who have a meal plan can swipe their ID.

The film will be shown in the lounge area after dinner, and students and the public can watch the film for free if they do not want dinner.

The 2013 film follows two girls who live in a "separate but equal" town of Summerston, Georgia. Through their love of track and field, the two girls form a friendship in spite of racial tension in their community. Kim Fields, Angie Stone, Fred Hammond and Kenny Lattimore are featured in the movie.
