Traffic patterns exiting Purdue football games to change Saturday as new highway section opens

September 11, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue University Police Department will be changing the outbound traffic pattern of home football games following the opening of a new section of U.S. Highway 231, stretching from South River Road to U.S. 52.

Beginning Saturday (Sept. 14), attendees exiting games and other traffic traveling eastbound on State Street will no longer be allowed to continue eastbound on State Street at McCormick Road. All traffic will be directed west or south to reach U.S. 231. Access to State Street will be allowed from Martin Jischke Drive.

This traffic restriction will be in place until approximately an hour after the game ends. Motorists also are reminded to abide by the lower speed limits posted on the local roads.
