Indiana Blood Center blood drive to take place during winter recess
December 17, 2015
Human Resources would like to remind employees of the partnership with the Indiana Blood Center to support the community's increased need of blood during the holiday season. The Indiana Blood Center will be open during the University's winter recess for a three-day blood drive for Purdue employees wishing to make a lifesaving donation.
The Blood Center, at 2200 Elmwood Ave., Suite D-16 in Market Square Shopping Center, will be open:
* Dec. 28 (M) -- 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
* Dec. 29 (T) -- 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
* Dec. 30 (W) -- 6 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (Hours have been extended for added convenience.)
According to the Indiana Blood Center, it takes only 45 minutes to an hour to donate. It’s a four-part procedure that consists of filling out a questionnaire, having a mini-physical, donating and then spending approximately 10 minutes in the refreshment area afterward.
As an incentive, Purdue gear will be given to Purdue employees who donate from Dec. 28 to Dec. 30 while supplies last. In addition, all Purdue employees who donate during this time will automatically be entered to win a pair of Purdue women’s basketball tickets for an upcoming game. Winner will choose which game to attend.
For questions or to make an appointment, contact Reanne Hall, donor center specialist at the Indiana Blood Center, at 765-446-7760 or rhall@indianablood.org.
