Dishing it up Diabetes Style workshop to focus on resistant starches

July 13, 2015

The Center for Healthy Living continues its "Dishing it up Diabetes Style" workshops, this time with a focus on fiber --resistant starches to be exact. The workshop will take place noon to 12:50 p.m. July 29 in the Recreational Sports Center's Demo Kitchen.

This food demonstration class, led by registered dietitian Ellen Welch, will show participants how to incorporate resistant starches into commonly used recipes to help improve blood glucose levels and weight management. Resistant starches are a group of fibers that do not contribute to blood glucose levels. Samples of the recipes prepared will be provided at the end of the demo.

Register by July 24 by calling 49-45239. Limited seating is available.

Center for Healthy Living workshops are offered at no cost to benefits-eligible faculty and staff and for spouses/same-sex domestic partners covered on a Purdue medical plan.
