Family-friendly workshop focuses on selecting child care

May 11, 2015

Purdue Human Resources will host a family-friendly workshop on locating and evaluating child care from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday (May 13) in Stewart Center, Room 204. Registration is due Tuesday (May 12). Limited seats are available.

Human Resources is bringing in local experts to present a variety of workshops geared toward parents and caregivers. Workshops are open to parents or caregivers with all ages of children, but each topic is geared toward a specific age group.

The "Locating and Evaluating Child Care" workshop will explore what parents and caregivers need to look for in quality child care and school-age programs. The workshop, presented by Katherine Toro-Masso from the Childcare Resource Network, will provide information on how to find quality programs and what different types of programs are available in the community. On-site referrals will be available.

The family-friendly workshops are open to faculty, staff, students and spouses/same-sex domestic partners. Those attending are encouraged to bring lunch to eat while listening to the presentation. Time for asking questions and networking with other parents will be offered.

To register for this or any other family-friendly workshops, call 49-60312 or email familyfriendly@purdue.edu.
