Season of Sharing program lasts through Dec. 11

November 25, 2014

Season of Sharing, the annual program that provides gifts to local children and families served by nonprofits, will last through Dec. 11.

To sign up to provide one or more gifts, faculty, staff and students can visit Krach Leadership Center, Room 336; the Krach front desk; or Schleman Hall, Room 207. At those locations, they can pick up one or more tree ornaments with gift requests.

Season of Sharing gifts must be taken unwrapped to Krach 336 by Dec. 11. The organizers then will give the gifts to four local nonprofits, which provided the names of the children who will receive them. The nonprofits will then provide the gifts to the children’s parents, who will wrap them and give them to their children during the holiday season.

The Purdue Student United Way and Civic Engagement and Leadership Development, which houses Boiler Volunteer Network, are co-sponsoring the program. Involved nonprofits are Bauer Family Resources, Mental Health America, Salvation Army and YWCA.
