Purdue alumnus C.N.R. Rao returns to campus for lecture

Purdue alumnus and international policy leader Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra (C.N.R.) Rao, who was named in 2013 a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, is the presenter of the inaugural address of the Joint Workshop on Nanomaterials and Energy sponsored by Discovery Park, Birck Nanotechnology Center, the College of Engineering and the College of Science, among others.

As part of his visit to Purdue, Rao (center) presented a lecture Thursday (Sept. 18) in the Department of Chemistry, where he also met with Jurgen M. Honig, professor emeritus of chemistry, and Tim Zwier, interim department head and the M. G. Mellon Distinguished Professor of Chemistry.
