Presidential Lecture Series event focuses on meeting needs of growing population

President Mitch Daniels and Sam Allen, CEO of Deere & Co. and Purdue alumnus, discuss meeting the needs of a growing population during the first lecture of the Fall 2014 Presidential Lecture Series, a diverse new series of lectures on policy, leadership, culture and society. The lecture, titled "Like a Good Challenge? Help Us Double Food Production by 2050," was held Monday (Sept. 29) in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse.

The series continues on Oct. 8 with "Models of Innovation," featuring Paul Eremenko, who currently heads Project Ara in Google's Advanced Technology & Projects (ATAP) organization. Daniels and Eremenko will discuss Project Ara and innovation at Google, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and elsewhere. The lecture is at 6:30 p.m. in Loeb Playhouse.
