Where to park for 1 p.m. Sunday commencement ceremony
May 15, 2014
Purdue is requesting cooperation on parking location for Sunday's (May 18) added 1 p.m. commencement ceremony to reduce congestion as others come and go for the day's two other ceremonies.
Purdue will award degrees during spring commencement ceremonies at its West Lafayette campus on Friday through Sunday (May 16, 17 and 18) at Elliott Hall of Music.
New this year, a ceremony has been added for graduate students earning master's and doctoral degrees from the College of Engineering. These students will now take part in a 1 p.m. May 18 ceremony. This ceremony was added due to an increase in candidate participation in the College of Engineering.
Due to the additional ceremony, University officials are asking those planning to attend at 1 p.m. to park in the Northwestern Avenue Garage (see map). This will help the flow of traffic leaving from an earlier ceremony from the University Garage. Handicap parking will be available in the Armory and overflow parking lots, with golf cart shuttle service to Elliott Hall of Music.
Parking for all other ceremonies is available in the University Street garage (see map) as well as Northwestern Avenue garage.
The ceremonies will be webcast and will air live on Comcast Channel 5 and Boiler TV Channel 26. All speeches will be captioned for the hearing-impaired.
