Student proposals sought for community engagement posters

January 23, 2014

The Center for Instructional Excellence is seeking student proposals for its second annual Academic Community Engagement Poster Presentation in April.

Posters can present any community-based service-learning and/or academic community engagement project from summer 2013 through spring 2014. Students who have a project that does not occur until the middle of spring 2014 can provide an abstract of what they intend to do for their community service activity.

Interested students should send an abstract for their poster to mbarbosa@purdue.edu by March 15. The abstract should be 100-200 words and describe the project. In their email, students should include their contact information and the class or student organization the project is related to.

Students whose proposals are accepted for the presentation will receive details about the format of the poster. Posters will be due by April 15.

The Academic Community Engagement Poster Presentation will take place from 9 a.m. to noon April 15 and 16 in the Electrical Engineering Building atrium. Voting will occur throughout the two days of the poster session, and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.
