President Mitch Daniels has presented the President's Council Pinnacle Award to Wayne and Barbara Kroemer to honor their longstanding and ongoing gifts to numerous Purdue programs, organizations and initiatives.

The Kroemer family was recognized for their $1.5 million gift to benefit the College of Health and Human Sciences, the Purdue Center for Cancer Research and Purdue Musical Organizations.

The Kroemers share a passionate enthusiasm and support for Purdue Musical Organizations. They also endow Purdue Varsity Glee Club scholarships and underwrite travel expenses. The couple also gave funds for Ralph and Bettye Bailey Hall, the future home of PMO, which is set to open by fall 2014. The music library will be named in their honor.

Wayne Kroemer is the founder and chairman of the board of CEP Sales Inc. Despite his love for and loyalty to Purdue, he graduated with a marketing major in 1952 from Indiana University.

Barbara Kroemer graduated from Purdue with a BS in home economics in 1953 and was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega social sorority.

The Pinnacle Award recognizes University donors who have given more than $1 million to support the University. The award to the Kroemers was made Nov. 9.
