Whether it's a stage, court, field, lecture hall or other venue, it's the place to enjoy the quality and breadth of campus life.

MARCH 24

NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament second-round game. Purdue and Oklahoma State will vie for a trip to the Sweet 16 at 9 p.m. (revised time) at Mackey Arena. Tickets are available online or at the Athletics Ticket Office.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox

Purdue's Presidential Lecture Series will feature Anant Agarwal, founder and president of edX, speaking on "Reinventing Education." Agarwal is a professor of engineering and computer science at MIT, which with Harvard founded edX in 2012 as a nonprofit, open-source enterprise providing education. He will discuss the growth of edX, the role and technology of MOOCs, and the global future of these things. 6:30 p.m. in Stewart Center's Fowler Hall. Details

Actress Laverne Cox, who currently appears in the Netflix television series "Orange is the New Black" as an incarcerated African-American transgender woman, will speak as part of the Purdue LGBTQ Center's Distinguished Lecture Series. Her talk is titled "Laverne Cox – Ain't I a Woman: My Journey to Womanhood." Cox, who also is a writer and producer, is the first trans African-American woman to have a leading role on a mainstream, scripted television show. 7 p.m. Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse. Details

MARCH 27

Perry Chen, co-founder and chairman of crowdfunding site Kickstarter, will speak as part of the Purdue University Series on Corporate Citizenship and Ethics. Since Kickstarter's 2009 launch, 5 million people have pledged more than $800 million to fund almost 50,000 creative projects. 7 p.m. Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse. Details

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern

"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead"

Purdue Convocations is bringing two takes on one of the Bard's most popular tales to Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse:
"Hamlet": The Acting Company will delve into the grief, rage, retribution, danger, and moral corruption of what is likely Shakespeare's most admired drama. 8 p.m. March 29. $.
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead." Guthrie Theatre will join the Acting Company for Tom Stoppard’s Tony Award-winning three-act play that looks at what transpires when the titular duo is offstage in "Hamlet," with jovial misadventures, playfully philosophical musings, and a clever love for language. 3 p.m. March 30. $. APRIL 2

Douglas Brinkley, best-selling author and the history commentator for CBS News, will speak about Neil Armstrong in "The Greatest Adventure: Neil Armstrong and the Moon Shot." Brinkley co-interviewed Armstrong in 2001 for the NASA Johnson Space Center Oral History Project, and he will share some audio recordings. President Mitch Daniels will introduce Brinkley. The event is presented by Purdue Institute for Civic Communication in partnership with the College of Engineering. 6-7:15 p.m. in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse. Details

Streb "Forces"

Streb "Forces." This Convocations event features daring dance feats way beyond stepping around the stage. The dancers use harnesses, walls and spinning claws and wheels to challenge the bounds of 3-D movement. 8 p.m. Elliott Hall of Music. $. Details

APRIL 5-6

"X Works." This student-produced concert from Purdue Contemporary Dance Company ranges from lyrical, tap and jazz to belly dance as students experiments with styles. 4 and 6 p.m. April 5; 1 and 3 p.m. April 6. Dance Studio Theatre, Pao Hall. Seating is limited. $.

"Gospel Meets Symphony" as the Black Voices of Inspiration collaborate with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra. BVOI, the Black Cultural Center's vocal music ensemble, is directed by Twana Harris. 7:30 p.m. Long Center, 111 N. Sixth St., Lafayette. $. Details


A PEEK AHEAD

APRIL 12

The Challenge 5K run/walk. This benefit for the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research calls for an 8 a.m. lineup and 8:30 a.m. start at the north end of Ross-Ade Stadium. But there's also a "sleep-in" alternative. $. Registration, procedures, more are at www.thepurduechallenge.com.

Spring Fest

Football spring game. This annual rite will offer a look at the team -- and this year at Purdue alumni astronauts at halftime. 1 p.m. Ross-Ade Stadium.

APRIL 12-13
