Whittaker to speak at Indiana Higher Education Coalition meeting

December 9, 2013

Dale Whittaker, vice provost for undergraduate academic affairs, will be a featured speaker at a meeting of the Indiana Higher Education Coalition on Tuesday (Dec. 10) in Washington, D.C.

Discussion will be about affordability and completion rates and will include staff members of the U.S. House and Senate education committees and representatives from nine Indiana institutions of higher education: Ball State University, Butler University, Indiana University, Indiana State University, Ivy Tech Community College, Purdue University, University of Indianapolis, University of Notre Dame and University of Southern Indiana.

"This is a great opportunity for us to position Indiana as a leader of innovation and best practices. We intend to set the bar high for higher education," Whittaker says.

Tuesday's event, the second by the coalition, is designed to inform federal legislative staff about issues facing higher education and the work being done by Indiana institutions to ensure quality and value for students and their families. The coalition is an ad hoc group of Indiana higher education institutions.
