University facilities to offer reduced winter break hours

Winter break hours

Campus offices and services will have reduced hours of operation during winter break at Purdue Memorial Union, Purdue University Libraries, and the Córdova Recreational Sports Center. Reduced hours are in play in various locations from Dec. 13 through Jan. 12.

Nearly all operations will be closed on the University holidays of Dec. 25, 26 and 27 and Jan. 1.

Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center will maintain nearly all standard building hours until closing at 5 p.m. Dec. 24. They will be closed Dec. 25-29. Both will reopen Dec. 30 on near-standard hours for the rest of winter break except that Stewart Center will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and remain closed Jan. 1. The Union Club Hotel will close at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and remain closed until 6 a.m. Dec. 30. For dining and other services:

* At least one dining venue on PMU's ground floor is open at least until midafternoon except Dec. 25-29 and Jan. 1.
* The Sagamore Restaurant on the second floor has hours every day except Dec. 25-29.
* Union Rack and Roll is open afternoons and evenings except Dec. 24-29.
* The Welcome Center will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays when the building is open, plus hours on commencement weekend.

Purdue University Libraries

Most campus libraries will be closed on weekends and holidays through the break (Dec. 15, Dec. 21-22, Dec. 25-29, Jan. 1, Jan. 4-5, Jan. 11-12). Hicks Undergraduate Library will be closed on all of those days except Jan. 12, when it will be open 1-10 p.m.

On weekdays, nearly all libraries and services will be available 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 16-20, Jan. 2-3 and Jan. 6-10. Hicks will be open 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Dec. 16-19; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 20; 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Dec. 23; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 24; 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Dec. 30; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 31; 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Jan. 2; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 3; 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Jan. 6-9; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 10; and 1-10p.m. Jan. 12. 

In addition, on Dec. 23-24 and Dec. 30-31, the following locations will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.: Siegesmund Engineering Library; Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education Library; Veterinary Medical Library; and Interlibrary Loan. For Dec. 30-31, Parrish Library and Management and Economics also will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Recreational sports

The France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center and the Boilermaker Aquatic Center will use a reduced schedule Dec. 14-24, Dec. 26-31, and Jan. 2-11. The centers will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The Turf Recreational Exercise Center (TREC) will operate under a reduced schedule Dec. 14-23 and Jan. 2-3 and will be closed Dec. 24-Jan 1 and Jan. 4-11. The climbing wall will be closed for the duration of winter break. Standard hours will resume Jan. 12.
