Purdue volunteers to honor MLK through day of service

Faculty, staff and students are invited to take part in Purdue's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Jan. 20.

Day of Service volunteers will honor King's legacy by helping local nonprofit agencies focused on economic development, education, the environment and healthy living. The event is sponsored by the Civic Engagement and Leadership Development Office.

Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center, where a continental breakfast will be available. Service throughout Greater Lafayette will last through 1 p.m.

To register as an individual, volunteers should fill out the registration form at https://boilerlink.purdue.edu/form/start/33749. Those who would like to register as a group should go to https://www.boilerlink.purdue.edu/organization/civicengagementandleadershipdevelopment/calendar/details/340551. Faculty and staff are encouraged to bring their partners, spouses and children to participate. Registration forms must be filled out for all participants.

The deadline to register is 11:30 p.m. Jan. 13.
