Mortar Board seeking nominations for annual leadership conference

December 6, 2013

The Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board is seeking high-potential undergraduate students to attend this year's Mortar Board Leadership Conference on Jan. 25. Faculty and staff are asked to nominate current and emerging leaders.

The theme for the 2014 conference, to be held in Stewart Center, is "Generation WHY." Keynote addresses and breakout presentations will focus on leadership issues and motivation as they pertain to the millennial generation, or Generation Y. Conference attendees will hear from Haydn Shaw, regarded as the "Generation Guru," on overcoming generational differences and from Purdue alumna Keri Wright, who became the CEO/owner of Universal Asset Management at age 31, on being a leader versus a manager.

Faculty and staff may nominate as many students as they would like at at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1az3zNRIxs1oDsjwpVX1jyD25ca9R4Co3j3ihHKUnYGE/viewform. The nomination deadline is Dec. 20.

Students may register for the conference at www.conf.purdue.edu/leadership. Those who complete their registration and payment by Jan. 9 will receive a personalized conference gift.

The cost of attendance is $25, which can be paid by students directly or by a sponsoring student organization or University department. Organizations or departments that are able to sponsor their nominee by paying the $25 registration fee are asked to work with the student to ensure the registration is complete.

The registration deadline is Jan. 14.
