Stanford bioengineer/psychiatrist to give Sigma Xi lecture

Karl Deisseroth, the D.H. Chen Professor of Bioengineering and of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, will present a Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecture on Thursday (April 18).
The lecture is titled "Optical Deconstruction of Fully Assembled Biological Systems." Deisseroth will speak at 1:30 p.m. in Stewart Center, Fowler Hall. A reception is to follow immediately in the Robert L. Ringel Gallery in Stewart Center.
Deisseroth is also an early career investigator in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. More about him is at http://www.stanford.edu/group/dlab.
The lecture is being supported by Sigma Xi, Bindley Bioscience Center, Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, and the Department of Biological Sciences. Sigma Xi is an international scientific research society whose Purdue chapter, founded in 1909, is active in numerous ways including bringing noted speakers to campus.
