CIE workshop to explore learning potential in cross-cultural classrooms
The Center for Instructional Excellence will hold a workshop on "Teaching Opportunities in the Cross-Cultural Classroom" on April 11.
The workshop is scheduled for 9-10:30 a.m. in Stewart Center, Room 314. Speakers will be Joe Potts, associate dean of international programs and director of the Office of International Students and Scholars; Nancy Montague and Beth Tucker, program coordinators in the Office of International Students and Scholars; and Chuck Calahan, assistant director of global learning faculty development in the Center for Instructional Excellence.
How do we unlock the tremendous learning potential that exists in the cross-cultural classroom and our communities? What resources are available to instructors to help students make connections inside and outside the classroom? This workshop focuses on arranging and using domestic-international student interaction to achieve learning objectives.
