Associate dean for distance learning candidates to participate in open forums

Three candidates for the position of associate dean for distance learning will hold open forums in November and December.
Purdue Extended Campus is conducting a national search for the position, which will be primarily responsible for leading Purdue's online learning initiatives.
The candidates have been asked to speak on the topic of MOOCs, massive open online courses, and the role Purdue should take in participating in this phenomenon. The candidates and their forums dates are:
* Nov. 30 (F). 9-10 a.m. Stewart Center, Room 310. Johannes Strobel, director of INSPIRE and assistant professor of engineering education and learning design and technology, Purdue.
* Dec. 3 (M). 9-10 a.m. Stewart Center, Room 310. Kristine Blair, professor and chair, Department of English, Bowling Green State University.
* Dec. 10 (M). 9-10 a.m. Stewart Center, Room 310. Catherine Watt, director of the Master of Public Administration Program, Strom Thurmond Institute of Government and Public Affairs, Clemson University.
