New resource gives supervisors practical tools for everyday leadership

Building on Human Resources’ broader supervisor enablement work, a new engagement and recognition resource is now available for supervisors. The site is organized around what supervisors want to accomplish in the moment, including recognizing great work, celebrating milestones, building team engagement, supporting employee growth and connecting staff to Purdue.

“Supervisors shape much of an employee’s day-to-day experience — from how expectations are communicated to whether contributions are noticed, growth is encouraged and employees feel connected to their team,” said Brenda Coulson, senior director, talent management, Human Resources.

Supervisors can explore recognition programs, send free recognition e-cards, see Learn From Around Purdue examples and move into a deeper supervisor tool kit with ready-to-use resources. Tools include conversation and check-in guides, growth tools, team connection ideas, recognition templates, as well as tips and sample Copilot chat prompts to help supervisors prepare, brainstorm and communicate.

The launch is the first phase of a broader supervisor resource hub; tools and topics will continue to be added.
