Policy updates for July

Purdue routinely reviews and updates the university’s policies and standards. The following changes take effect July 15:

  1. Residence Classification of Students for Tuition Purposes (II.D.1): Changes in legal requirements allow students with certain military affiliations to qualify for resident status. The policy was also updated to better reflect when noncitizens may apply for resident status.
  2. Sanctions and Export Control Regulations (I.A.2): New legal requirements on this topic precipitated updates to the policy, including eliminating the working group, designating an empowered official to oversee the program, and adding responsibilities for the office of Research Security & Export Controls. Several definitions were added or updated.
  3. Use of Copyrighted Materials for Education and Research Purposes (I.A.3): The university no longer has a copyright office, so the responsibilities in the policy have shifted to the offices of Legal Counsel and the Vice President for Ethics and Compliance.

Visit the new and revised policies page on the University Policy Office website for a link to the full text of these policies.

Note: Policies and standards do not apply to Purdue Global, as it maintains its own policies and standards.
