2026 Excellence in Research Awards nominations being accepted

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue’s Office of Research is accepting nominations for the 2026 Excellence in Research Awards, the university’s highest honors for research and scholarly achievement. The three awards are:

• The Lu Ann Aday Award for a major impact in a field of the humanities and social sciences
• The Arden L. Bement Jr. Award for extraordinary contributions in pure and applied sciences and engineering
• The Herbert Newby McCoy Award for extraordinary contributions in the natural sciences

Awardees receive a cash prize to support their ongoing scholarly activities and are invited to present their work in May at the Excellence in Research Awards Lectures.

Recipients are nominated by their colleagues, recommended by a faculty committee, and approved by the executive vice president for research and Purdue’s president. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 1.
