CHL to offer resistance training lifestyle program; register by April 9

The Center for Healthy Living (CHL) is offering a four-week virtual strength-training program April 16 through May 7. “121 Strong” takes place from noon to 1 p.m. ET on Thursdays and supports the physical health pillar of the Your Path Wellness Program.

Led by Amy Becker and Ethan Delatorre, health coaches at Purdue Fort Wayne, the program will teach the fundamentals of resistance training and guide participants as they create individualized resistance training programs that are realistic, manageable, and will contribute to their overall health and fitness goals.

Each class will include both an educational and active component, and participants will be encouraged to meet with a CHL health coach for a pre- and postprogram InBody assessment. The InBody scale uses patented bioelectrical impedance technology to measure the entire body in five different segments — right arm, left arm, torso, right leg and left leg. Results will show individuals their distribution of fat, water and muscle in their bodies.

Those interested in the program should register by April 9 via the Your Path Wellness Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Activities” section on the homepage of the new portal. Scroll down to the “121 Strong” box under the “Workshops” section and click the “Details” button to learn more and register.

Questions about the “121 Strong” program can be directed to the CHL at 765-494-0111.

Your Path workshops and lifestyle programs are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their dependents covered on a Purdue health plan.
