Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on ‘Coping and Acceptance With Depression and Anxiety’

Mental Health America reports that one in five American adults will have a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year. Additionally, MHA statistics show that anxiety and depression are among the most common mental illnesses.

With that in mind, individuals are invited to join Amanda Hathcock, behavioral health counselor at the Center for Healthy Living, as she presents a Healthy Boiler workshop titled “Coping and Acceptance With Depression and Anxiety.” The workshop takes place May 14 via Teams.

A brief breakdown of acceptance theory and how it applies to coping and managing depression and anxiety as well as the associated symptoms will be presented during the workshop.

Those interested in attending should register by May 14prior to the start of the workshopvia the Healthy Boiler Portal. A registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section of the portal’s home page. Hover over the “Coping and Acceptance With Depression and Anxiety” square and click on the information “i” to register.

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their dependents. Any questions can be directed to the Center for Healthy Living at 765-494-0111.
