Purdue Global’s School of Multidisciplinary and Professional Studies accepting proposals for 2025 Virtual General Education Conference

The Purdue Global School of Multidisciplinary and Professional Studies is accepting proposals for the 17th annual Virtual General Education Conference. This year’s conference takes place April 22-24, and the theme is “Digital Age Transformations: Reinventing General Education.”

Proposals for this year’s conference are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Feb. 1. Faculty, staff and administrators from across the university are encouraged to contribute their insights and expertise. The conference is designed to highlight innovative practices, research and strategies that advance general education and foster student success. Proposals can be submitted here.

This year’s conference encompasses the following core tracks: 

  • Research, Scholarship and Skills in General Education: Share research, scholarship and insights into skills development in general education disciplines or interdisciplinary studies.
  • Evidence-Based Practices in General Education: Highlight instructional strategies and teaching methods grounded in research and data.
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Explore research and practical applications of leadership strategies and policy development in higher education.
  • Innovation and Future Trends in Higher Education: Investigate how general education prepares students for lifelong learning through innovations in course design, technology, AI and more.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in Higher Education: Share research and strategies for supporting diverse student and faculty populations, promoting equity and fostering belonging.
  • Lightning Sessions: Fast-paced, high-impact presentations for previewing technology, sharing research snapshots, showcasing best teaching practices or presenting original creative works.

This year’s conference includes special preconference sessions for Earth Day. Faculty, staff, students and administrators are invited for a day of learning on April 21, with presentations and activities centered on the theme “Earth Day in the Digital Age.” Visit the Earth Day page on the conference site for more details.
