The Purdue Grand Prix Foundation hosted its inaugural Halloween Hundred on Saturday (Oct. 12) at the Purdue Grand Prix Track, with more than 500 people attending.

Twenty-five student teams completed 100 laps for the Halloween Hundred. Excalibur Racing (kart No. 11), driven by Athreya Ramanan, came out on top with a time of 46:29.730. Integra Cavalry JSR (No. 1), driven by Cameron Blackmore, came in second place, and MGP Racing (No. 77), driven by Patrick Gerdeman, placed third.
This race differed from the foundation’s annual Purdue Grand Prix, which runs for 160 laps with 33 qualifying teams every April.
“We’re incredibly proud of how this year’s Halloween Hundred came together,” said Elijah Michael Moody, race co-director. “The energy and spirit of all the participants made it an unforgettable event. It’s more than just a race — it’s a community celebration, and seeing everyone come out and support it shows Purdue’s passion for this tradition.”
Attendees had the opportunity to visit food trucks, buy merchandise and talk to Purdue Grand Prix alumni. The foundation also worked closely with students from Purdue University Dance Marathon, which raises funds for the children and families of Riley Hospital for Children, to have one of PUDM’s Riley kids at the race to hand out the awards and congratulate teams.
The foundation is looking to hold the Halloween Hundred race again next year. The next Purdue Grand Prix will take place April 26.
