FedEx shipping number no longer available; eShipGlobal available for shipping packages with FedEx

The FedEx shipping account number ending in 594 is no longer available for use by members of the Purdue community. Instead, faculty and staff who need to ship a package should utilize eShipGlobal.

Since this FedEx account will be closed soon, faculty and staff should create a user profile for eShipGlobal if they haven’t already done so. Once logged in, users can input their shipment information (ship-from address, ship-to address, package weight, package dimensions, billing type and cost allocation information) to the eShipGlobal order page. Users are able to choose the type of service and carrier they would like to use (FedEx, DHL, UPS). Once the order is ready to ship, a shipping label, required labels (dry ice, hazardous materials, etc.), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection documentation can be printed and attached to the outside of the package.

All outgoing shipments are processed through eShipGlobal to keep Purdue in compliance with the Department of Transportation’s shipping regulations.

Below are the three variables that determine whether eShipGlobal can be used for incoming shipments:

  • Domestic shipments: If the collaborator is located within the United States, eShipGlobal can be used to send the package to Purdue. Users should create a shipping label showing Purdue as the recipient and email the label to the collaborator.
  • Nonhazardous materials: If the package is nonhazardous, eShipGlobal can be used to send it to Purdue. Users should create a shipping label showing Purdue as the recipient and email the label to the collaborator.
  • Dry ice: If the package contains dry ice, eShipGlobal cannot be used to send the item to Purdue.

If eShipGlobal cannot be used for incoming shipments, the user should contact Materials Management and Distribution at MMDCshipping@purdue.edu.
