Center for Healthy Living announces physician retirement, new providers, programs, more

Many new things are happening at the Center for Healthy (CHL), including the retirement of Dr. Ronald Shelton.

Shelton joined the team at the CHL on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus in February 2018 following his retirement from St. Vincent in May 2017 as a cardiac anesthesiologist. For the last six years, Shelton has provided patients at the CHL with primary and acute care while also serving as medical director for the West Lafayette CHL.

The CHL staff and Purdue community extend their sincere appreciation to Shelton for his years of service and care provided to the Purdue community and wishes him the very best in his retirement.

New services and providers

Patients at the West Lafayette CHL might notice new services and new faces, including Mincy Grove, certified family nurse practitioner, as the team works through the expansion of hours, updating its website and hiring a replacement for Shelton. Dr. Esteban Ramirez, who has served as a provider at the West Lafayette CHL since May 2020 and is the current medical director for the Fort Wayne and Northwest CHL locations, will assume the role of medical director for the West Lafayette CHL as well.

All three CHL locations now offer integrated telehealth featuring TextCare, as well as expanded access to medication therapy management to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan.

More information regarding new providers will be shared once Shelton’s replacement has been hired. Questions can be directed to the CHL at 765-494-0111.
