Finalists for dean of College of Education to make on-campus presentations

Two finalists for the Suzi and Dale Gallagher Dean of the College of Education position will be on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus for two-day interviews the first week of October, the chair of the search advisory committee announced today (September 23).

Gary Bertoline, search advisory committee chair and senior vice president for Purdue Online and Learning Innovation, said that finalists will make a public presentation on “Challenges, Opportunities, and Thoughts on the Future of the College of Education” and then take questions. The presentations will also be livestreamed, but questions will come from the in-person audience only.

“We have two outstanding candidates,” Bertoline said. “I hope faculty, staff and students will take this opportunity to hear from each candidate.”

Feedback on the candidates is requested, and the search website contains an online tool for providing feedback. In addition, the full curriculum vitae for each candidate can be found on the site.

Finalists and their presentation dates are:

  • Oct. 3 (M) – Punya Mishra, associate dean for scholarship and innovation and professor, educational leadership and innovation, Arizona State University, 9-10 a.m. Stewart Center, Room 214ABC.
  • Oct. 6 (Th) – André Green, associate vice president for academic affairs and professor, University of South Alabama, 9-10 a.m. Pfendler Hall, Room 241.
