Purdue summer commencement to be shown live on TV, Internet

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Summer commencement ceremonies at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus will be broadcast live for television and Internet audiences.

The ceremonies will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 6) at Elliott Hall of Music.

The event will be aired live on Comcast Channel 5 and Boiler TV Channel 13. It also will be shown live via webcast at mms://video1.itap.purdue.edu/graduation

The link will not become active until 48 hours before the ceremony.

To watch online, viewers must have Windows Media Player installed on their computers. It can be downloaded free at https://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/

The streaming archive of the ceremony will be available after the event at mms://video1.itap.purdue.edu/bns/Commencements/August_2011.wmv

Commencement videos will be available at $30 per DVD. Order forms can be obtained at the Loeb Playhouse Box Office, online at https://www.purdue.edu/registrar/pdf/DVD_Form.pdf  or by calling 765-494-3933. Forms may be submitted both before and after the ceremony within two weeks of the event.
