Centennial Mall to close to vehicular traffic

August 31, 2012

Beginning Saturday (Sept. 1), Centennial Mall again will close to public vehicular traffic. The area was opened to allow access for construction traffic during construction of the Roger B. Gatewood Wing of the Mechanical Engineering Building. Since then, it has been used as a service drive.

Centennial Mall has been identified as a hard-surface area for special events. In an ongoing effort to keep the academic campus as pedestrian-friendly as possible, the only vehicles that will be allowed to access Centennial Mall as of Saturday will be pre-approved traffic for University-sanctioned events, activities and operations.

Questions regarding Centennial Mall traffic may be directed to the Purdue Police Department’s non-emergency phone number: 49-48221.
