The Office of Operational Resilience

Impact Statement

At Purdue University, our mission is to empower units across campus to achieve operational resilience through internationally recognized standards and strategic continuity planning. We combine deep expertise, proven frameworks, and a culture of continuous improvement to safeguard critical services, enhance institutional trust, and ensure rapid recovery during disruptions.

Through our ISO Certification Support Program, we help departments attain and maintain certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO/IEC 20000-1. These achievements reflect our commitment to quality, security, service excellence, and business continuity. Our guidance includes audit preparation, documentation, internal reviews, and strategic alignment—enabling units to meet sponsor requirements, unlock funding opportunities, and elevate their reputational standing.
In parallel, our Business Continuity Planning (BCP) efforts equip university units with the tools and training needed to develop, test, and refine continuity and recovery plans. Using Business Impact Analyses (BIA), Functional Impact Analyses (FIA), and tabletop exercises, we help departments define critical functions, assess risks, and build actionable recovery strategies.

Together, these programs foster a resilient Purdue—one that is prepared, agile, and committed to excellence in the face of uncertainty.
