Today, HLA participated in the College of Agriculture’s BGR Carnival, welcoming incoming students and introducing them to the opportunities available within the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. Representing HLA were Dr. Kathryn Orvis, Kristina Cooley, Evie Orick, and HLA Ambassador Lillie Fronek, who spent the afternoon connecting with students and families.

The HLA booth featured the popular Watermelon Card Ninja game along with giveaways and information about HLA academic programs, student organizations, and campus involvement opportunities. Visitors stopped by throughout the event to test their skills, learn more about the department, and meet current HLA representatives.

The BGR Carnival provided a fun and engaging way to welcome Purdue’s newest students, answer questions about HLA, and help students feel connected before the start of classes. It was a great opportunity to showcase the department’s welcoming community while kicking off another exciting academic year.
