Attendees were treated to an authentic South African culinary experience with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The menu showcased traditional South African dishes, accompanied by a popular pre-game snack, native teas, and desserts that highlighted the country’s diverse food culture.

Peppermint Chip Tart and Malva Pudding
During the presentation, Langenhoven and van der Berg shared insights into South Africa’s rich history and cultural heritage. They explored the country’s unique position as a nation with eleven official languages and discussed its journey through significant historical periods, including the end of apartheid and transition to democracy.
The presenters also delved into South Africa’s agricultural and horticultural landscape, discussing both traditional and modern practices that have shaped the country’s relationship with food production.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for community members to expand their cultural awareness while enjoying delicious food and engaging conversation.
