Aaron Thompson Receives Grant for “Plan Your Park”

Dr. Aaron Thompson, Department of Horticulture & Landscape Architecture, and Dr. Zoe Nyssa, Department of Anthropology, are excited to announce the receipt of a new grant entitled “Plan Your Park.” The grant from the Engagement Scholarship Consortium will support an ongoing partnership between the Department of Anthropology, the City of West Lafayette, and the Center for Community & Environmental Design to develop a master plan for Happy Hollow Park. Wildly popular but suffering due to insufficient stormwater infrastructure, the park presents both challenging technical design problems and tremendous public demands on the future of this space. This unique collaboration involves undergraduate and graduate students, who will continue community engagement research leading to a student-generated design proposal during AY 2022-23.
