Understories: Tales of Photosynthesis in the Shadows
Enter, if you dare, into the shadowy underworld of crop plants—where sunlight is scarce, and photosynthesis fights to help plants thrive. In this spine-tingling (not really) seminar, we’ll explore the mysterious lutein epoxide cycle in legumes, and the regulatory culprits behind the sinister loss of photosynthetic efficiency in shaded sorghum leaves. Finally, we’ll share some tricks for designing canopy-conscious constructs and investigating expression of your favorite genes of interest across sorghum and soybean canopies. Whether you’re a photosynthesis fanatic, a zombie for xanthophylls, or a ghoul for new tools, you’re in for a spooky treat.
