Background

Yitong Wang

I earned my baccalaureate nursing degree from Purdue University, School of Nursing, in 2019. Right after graduation, I began to work as a staff nurse at Cleveland Clinic (post-surgical urology & telemetry department). At the same time, I started my Master’s in Nursing Education from WGU and earned the degree in January 2021.

Research Interests

Currently, I am starting my PhD in Nursing as a full-time student at Purdue University. My research interests focus on the study of nursing trauma. Nursing is a stressful profession, and many of them may experience related mental health conditions that can threaten the well-being of nurses and their patients. My primary mentor is Dr. Karen Foli.

Why Purdue?

I chose to go back to Purdue University to further my education because of the great undergraduate experiences here. Additionally, I am confident that the knowledgeable and supportive faculty of the PhD Nursing program will help me acquire the necessary research skills to achieve my career goals.
