Why we chose Purdue
Written by Greg McClure
An honors student hoping to work for the CDC, a doctoral student who sees patients’ golden years as full of potential, a student who has wanted to be a nurse since the eighth grade, and another whose recovery from cancer changed his career path are among the skilled group of future nurses studying at Purdue University.
A “choose your own adventure” program with a variety of opportunities and a focus on developing the nurse as an advocate were among the appealing features of the Purdue School of Nursing — which now educates twice as many students as it did in 2016 in order to meet the national shortage of nurses.
