Nancy Edwards — Exceptional Engagement Award
Ken Ferraro, director of the Center for Aging and the Life Course, conferred the award to Edwards in recognition of her devotion to caring for the older adult population and creating programs to aid optimal aging. The center leadership confers an award each year, and the purpose of the award rotates annually between research, teaching and service. Edwards is an associate professor of nursing.
Jane Kirkpatrick — Service-Learning Fellow
The Purdue Community of Service-Learning Faculty Fellows grant program is designed for faculty members who have demonstrated both a strong commitment and a desire to play a leadership role in service-learning. Grant recipients work alongside the campus Service Engagement Advisory Board and the Center for Instructional Excellence. Kirkpatrick is an associate professor and head of the School of Nursing.
Sara McComb — Purdue Teaching Academy Fellow
The Purdue Teaching Academy recognizes faculty members and graduate teaching assistants for outstanding and scholarly teaching in graduate, undergraduate or engagement programs. Selection is based on evidence of excellence in teaching, innovation in teaching methodology, teaching-related service, and scholarship in teaching and learning. McComb is a professor of nursing and industrial engineering.
Chris Rearick — Honorary membership into the Purdue University chapter of Sigma Alpha Lambda
Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national leadership and honors organization dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and to providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment. Rearick is coordinator of the Purdue Nursing Center for Family Health.
Janet Thorlton — Teaching for Tomorrow Fellowship Award
The Teaching for Tomorrow Fellowship program recognizes tenure-track or clinical junior faculty members who are committed to improving their teaching at Purdue and senior faculty members for their long-term contributions to teaching and mentoring. The mission of the program is to foster continued excellence of teaching and learning, and also to facilitate the development of the teaching potential of the faculty. Thorlton is a clinical associate professor of nursing.
