University leaders will keep the community informed, and plan to provide additional updates and information by July 1 or sooner. At this time, the University remains optimistic for fall 2020 return to on-campus learning. Please know, we will host a Virtual Career Fair for fall 2020, registration opening in early July. The School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and Consumer Science's Career Center provides services for HTM/CSR undergraduates, graduate students, alumni & company recruiters. The HTM/CSR Career Center serves as a liaison between hospitality company representatives, students and the School. During the academic year, approximately 400+ students use the services of the HTM/CSR Career Center to obtain permanent employment and internships in the hospitality industry. Employers enjoy visiting campus to meet and interview our well-prepared and talented students. The center provides the following services:

  • Sponsor a fall (Sept.) and spring (Feb.) career fair
  • Strongly recommend students to register to our HTM List Serve to receive emails when employers are looking to fill internships or full/time employment, etc.
  • Coordinates interviewing schedules between students and companies recruiting
  • Presents a mandatory orientation to students each semester explaining departmental requirement regarding internships 
  • Collects and keeps student resumes on file
  • Host various workshops throughout the semester
  • Plans recruiting company information sessions prior to interviewing
  • Sends resumes to companies for pre-screening
  • Assists faculty with hosting recruiters for lunch during on-campus recruiting
  • Arranges for class presentations by recruiters for faculty
  • Surveys recruiters concerning student placement at the end of each school semester
  • Strong supporter of Title IX (Student's Title IX rights will follow them to the employer during an internship/work experience)
