Selling and Sales Management Students Excel in Spring Sales Competitions

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – This spring, students in Purdue’s Selling and Sales Management program showcased their skills and professionalism in a series of high-profile sales competitions hosted by Ryerson, PepsiCo, Spot Freight, and Sherwin Williams. These competitions provided students with invaluable hands-on experience, sharpening their sales acumen and preparing them for careers in the competitive world of professional selling. All four companies are proud partners of the Purdue Center for Professional Selling, further enhancing the opportunities available to students.

Ryerson Sales Competition
Kate Eichenauer, Janelle Hubert, and Ella Thompson delivered impressive performances in the Ryerson Sales Competition, demonstrating their expertise in sales strategy and relationship-building. Their dedication to sales excellence stood out, earning them recognition for their hard work and preparation. The event, generously sponsored by Ryerson, gave students the opportunity to engage with industry professionals, further solidifying their skills in real-world sales scenarios.

PepsiCo Sales Competition
The PepsiCo-sponsored competition saw remarkable achievements, with Janelle Hubert and Kyle Tupper tying for first place. Austin Francis secured second place, while Kate Eichenauer and Lilly Pelletiere shared third place honors. Each competitor displayed exceptional sales abilities, strategic thinking, and professionalism, reinforcing the strength of Purdue’s Selling and Sales Management program. PepsiCo’s continued support plays a pivotal role in fostering career development opportunities for these aspiring sales professionals.

Spot Freight Sales Competition
The Spot Freight Sales Competition highlighted the talents of several outstanding Purdue sales students. Lillian Dailey claimed first place, followed by Brynn Smith in second. A three-way tie for third place featured Janelle Hubert, Kate Eichenauer, and Zach Fletcher. These students demonstrated impressive negotiation skills and adaptability in a dynamic sales environment. Spot Freight’s sponsorship and support provided an invaluable platform for students to refine their techniques and engage with industry leaders.

Sherwin Williams Sales Competition
The Sherwin Williams Sales Competition brought out the best in Purdue’s sales students, with Seneca Gonzalez and Reilly Hunt securing first place. Brendan Ballou and Janelle Hubert earned second place, while David Claudy, Kate Eichenauer, and Nolan Knable shared third place honors. Additionally, Alivia Davis, Reilly Schalliol, and Brynn Smith received honorable mentions for their strong performances. This competition further demonstrated the students’ ability to excel in high-pressure sales scenarios, thanks to the continued support and sponsorship of Sherwin Williams.
