Current Research Interests:
The resolution of traditional wide-field microscope is limited by the diffraction of light, which typically provides 200 nm resolution laterally. However, superresolution microscopy no matter based on selective deactivation of fluorophores like STED or stochastically active each fluorophore like PALM, STORM. They all can break Abbe diffraction limit which achieve 4~6 times higher resolution than traditional ones. In Prof. Huang’s lab, we are focusing on improving those imaging tools by combining adaptive optics and optimizing reconstruction algorithm using neural network. With those super-resolution imaging tools, we are able to answer the fundamental cell biology questions which were hard to approach due to resolution limitation
