Martin C. Jischke International Student of the Year Award

The Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award is presented annually each spring to honor a student who has not only excelled academically, but who has also clearly demonstrated a commitment to service - specifically in welcoming and connecting peoples of all cultures.

Faculty and staff are invited to nominate students who best fulfill the following requirements:

  • Graduating senior who has attained a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.00 (Graduating senior” is an undergraduate graduating in the prior December, or May or August of the award year.)
  • Commitment to Scholarship (demonstrated through academic achievement or recognition in research, publications, presentations, etc.)
  • Commitment to Leadership (demonstrated in their major department, student organization or employment affiliation)
  • Commitment to Service (demonstrated in how they welcome and connect peoples of all cultures)
  • Outstanding Character

A call for nominations goes out to all faculty and staff each February and are due each March. A selection committee from across campus will select the award recipient in late March. The award recipient receives a monetary award from the Martin C. Jischke Endowment.  

2025 Instructions

All nominations must be submitted electronically in the 2025 Martin C. Jischke International Student Award Nomination Form by 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 14th, 2025.
