Explore Purdue Engineering during a college campus visit to West Lafayette, Indiana, for all high school juniors, high school seniors and their parents.
- Design your own schedule! Attend specific engineering sessions and tour campus or a student residence hall, all while connecting with engineering students, Purdue staff and alums.
- If you visit campus early, we offer an optional “meet and greet” opportunity on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026. All participants and parents or guardians will enjoy a fun, casual atmosphere with the ability to mingle with many engineering representatives and current engineering students. We look forward to discussing what engineering is all about at Purdue University.

Introducing Purdue
This is our first recommendation for you as a prospective student. This is a full-day visit, including an Engineering Information Session providing an overview of the majors and programs here in the College of Engineering and opportunities for student life, research, work experience, study abroad, and more! The afternoon includes academic and student program information, sessions, and tours.

The Virtual Engineering Information Sessions are designed for prospective students and their families and provide an overview of the engineering majors offered at Purdue, along with information about student life, research opportunities, internships, study abroad, and more. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear directly from current engineering students.

What does life as an engineering student at Purdue look like?
Student Life
Purdue provides plenty of opportunities for students to get involved on campus in clubs and organizations. Our students are also welcome to travel to our Indianapolis location to participate in clubs and organizations there.
Work Experience
The Office of Professional Practice (OPP) administers a wide variety of work-integrated learning programs where students can earn academic credentials for completion of work experiences. The programs help students apply what they learn in the classroom both domestically and internationally while earning a paycheck
Academic Success
The Engineering Success Center (ESC) located in Lambertus Hall Room 2235 is a transformative space where engineering students are empowered to take ownership of their educational journey
First-Year Engineering
Purdue Engineering students in West Lafayette begin in the First-Year Engineering (FYE) Program, where they are placed in teams to learn collaboration, communication, math, science, design and problem-solving skills. In addition, students explore each of our majors to find the best fit to pursue their passion.

Would you like to learn about Purdue from a student’s perspective? Reach out to a member of the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation (PSEF). These are current undergraduate engineering students studying at Purdue from across the United States and around the world. Check out their profiles to learn about their experiences, and then reach out to one of them using their contact form. They can be a direct resource for you as questions arise about being an engineering student. PSEFers love being Boilermakers but will also “tell it like it is,” as they want you to see the whole picture here and help you find the best college fit no matter where that may be!
Find Engineering Alum in Your Area!
PACER (PSEF Alumni Coordinated Engineering Recruitment) is a program designed for prospective students to connect with an alumni in their area. PACER is a great resource for students who still have questions about engineering and Purdue after a campus visit, or for students who don’t have the opportunity to visit campus. Please fill out the interest form if you want to be paired with an alumni – we will get back to you within one to two weeks!
