This year, the Center for the Environment is celebrating Earth Day virtually - and we want you to participate!

What will you be doing for Earth Day?

Join activities taking place around the world on Earth Day by adding your voice and entering a drawing for earth-friendly prizes!

  1. Create a video or photo for your Instagram story about what you’ll be doing for the earth for Earth Day 2020.
  2. Mention @PurdueC4E and tag #EarthDay2020.
  3. Share it on your Instagram story and challenge your friends to do the same.
  4. Celebrate Earth Day wherever you are.
  5. Wait and win some cool earth-friendly merch including: Earth Day HydroFlasks (tree planted for every purchase on Earth Day), reusable market totes, and post-consumer plastic gear.

Other Ways to Engage

Record the Earth: Purdue professor and Center affiliate Bryan Pijanowski's citizen science project encourages you to record your outdoor environment on Earth Day and upload it to an ever-growing database of sounds from around the world.

A virtual Earth Day celebration will take place on Wednesday, April 22, hosted by Purdue's Native American Educational and Cultural Center and the Center for the Environment.

Participate in the Stream Selfie project, put on by the Izaak Walton League of America.

Attend a virtual Science of Information Seminar by Dr. John Knott from the Purdue Department of Forestry and Center for Science of Information.

Join the Wilson Center's webinar celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, featuring two renowned scientists based in Latin America.

Earth Day Live will feature messages, performances and calls to action from celebrities and world leaders.
