Study Abroad Faculty Orientation

2019 Study abroad Faculty Orientation

 

All faculty leading a study abroad program during 2019 should plan to attend the Study Abroad Faculty Orientation.  We always have a great mix of faculty leading a program for the first time and seasoned professionals who have excellent input/experiences to share.

There are two sessions scheduled in order to facilitate smaller groups and maximize faculty/staff participation.

Please register (link also available on program leader page) for the Faculty Orientation session you plan to attend:

  • Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 3:00 – 4:30 pm  STEW 310
  • Thursday, February 14, 2019, 3:00 – 4:30 pm  STEW 310

Basic Agenda

SA staff presentation: 

  • Faculty responsibilities before/during/after the program
  • Emergency procedures/communication plans

University Campus Partners (OIE/Title IX Office, Dean of Students, Risk Mgmt., etc.)

  • Study abroad case studies – we will take a look at various situations that may arise on a study abroad program and what steps faculty would take to address the issues.  

My proposal has been approved - Now What?

This workshop will cover the basics of student enrollment management, utilizing the program leader page, required students and faculty forms, SA deposits and cancellation policies, as well as answer any pressing questions.

These workshops are specifically for program leaders that will conducting programs during winter break 20198/19, spring break 2019, and summer 2019.

There are four session options to choose from, all held in Young Hall, Room 101. Please register online.

  • Weds November 7, 10:00-11:00 AM
  • Weds November 14, 2:00-3:00 PM
  • Weds November 21, 10:00-11:00 AM
  • Weds November 28, 2:00-3:00 PM
