Andrea Thomas, EdD, is a senior intercultural learning specialist at CILMAR. Her responsibilities include:

• co-administering the Virtual Experiential Intercultural Learning (VEIL) Grant and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Grant programs
• consulting with faculty who are planning virtual exchanges or COIL courses

Following a career in international development and U.S. international affairs, Andrea joined higher education as an educational leader for diversity, equity and inclusion; international education innovation and change management. Andrea’s research has focused on the role collaborative education pedagogy contributes to critical skills development, gaming technology, virtual reality, and virtual exchange (VE)/collaborative online international learning (COIL) in the context of Industry 4.0. 

Andrea seeks opportunities to collaborate on research projects for:

• Effective teaming and innovation
• Immersive environments and the role they play in intercultural learning
