To enroll, employees should log into Benefitfocus through the OneCampus portal – select the "Benefits Open Enrollment for Faculty and Staff" banner – using their Purdue career account username and BoilerKey or via the Benefitplace mobile app.

Nutrition Science department head reveals family ties to Purdue’s namesake

As Laura Murray-Kolb, professor and department head in the Department of Nutrition Science, began her new role in the College of Health and Human Sciences and brandished her gold and black for the first time, it wasn’t just the Boilermaker spirit she was feeling. Rather, she felt a renewed sense of connection to her family, as she admired the work of her third great-granduncle and the University’s namesake and primary benefactor, John Purdue.

Nicoletti-Martínez honored with national Jefferson Award

Whether she is providing a new pair of shoes to one young girl or supplying an entire community with computers, Kimber J. Nicoletti-Martínez has touched the lives of thousands of farmworkers throughout the years. It is this commitment and dedication to service on both a macro and micro level that made Nicoletti-Martínez a winner of this year’s national Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service by an Employee.

'Time machine' shows path to reverse course of pancreatic cancer

What makes pancreatic cancer so deadly is its covert and quick spread. Now, a “time machine” built by Purdue engineers has shown a way to reverse the course of cancer before it spreads throughout the pancreas. “These findings open up the possibility of designing a new gene therapy or drug because now we can convert cancerous cells back into their normal state,” said Bumsoo Han, professor of mechanical engineering.

Video: Meet Miri Niedrauer – fighter, risk-taker, Boilermaker

If persistence were a person, it’d be Boilermaker and veteran Miri Niedrauer. Niedrauer didn’t grow up with access to any kind of education, so she made her own, leading her to a PhD in organic chemistry at Purdue and an MBA through Purdue Global.
