President Daniels’ welcome back message

In his welcome back video, President Mitch Daniels reminds Boilermakers that all of the Protect Purdue practices used during the fall will be every bit as important this spring. Daniels also announces that Purdue on Wednesday (Jan. 20) will sponsor a daylong academic program to examine the history and meaning of Inauguration Day.

Turn off that camera during virtual meetings, environmental study says

It’s not just to hide clutter anymore – add “saving the planet” to the reasons you leave the camera off during your next virtual meeting. A new study says that despite a record drop in global carbon emissions in 2020, a pandemic-driven shift to remote work and more at-home entertainment still presents significant environmental impact due to how internet data is stored and transferred around the world.

An ongoing Purdue University Fort Wayne program to remake courses for online delivery in eight weeks serves students who need the added flexibility and makes the courses more attractive to learners in surrounding counties and states, expanding Purdue Fort Wayne’s reach.

'The Gangsta Gardener,' food drive to kick off MLK celebration activities

Purdue will offer several virtual events and a community food drive in January to celebrate the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. On Monday (Jan. 18), Purdue will host Ron Finley, known as “The Gangsta Gardener,” at 1 p.m. ET. Monday also kicks off a food drive being coordinated by ACE Campus Food Pantry.
