Purdue Research Foundation COVID-19 experts can advise on economic management and recovery during and after crisis

Below is a list of economic, entrepreneurial and business experts from Purdue University Research Foundation’s Discovery Park District and the Purdue Foundry who can talk about economic management and recovery during and following the COVID-19 crisis. Combined, these experts have nearly 150 years of experience in economic development and were actively involved in economic recovery of the late 1990s dot-com bubble and the 2007 economic crisis.

Community development for entrepreneurship and innovation

Greg Deason, Purdue Research Foundation senior vice president of entrepreneurship and place making

As one of the founders of the Purdue Foundry entrepreneurial hub, Deason has been bringing together resources, people and partners to create and support small business for more than 30 years. Developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem to support innovation and growth, he can speak to the importance of partnerships between industry, research and talent. These kinds of partnerships can be especially important when facing challenges such as COVID-19.

Wade Lange, Purdue Research Foundation vice president and chief entrepreneurial officer

Known in health care innovation for building relationships and collaborations across organizational boundaries, Lange has more than 40 years of experience in creating solutions to business challenges. Lange’s background in health care innovation is particularly relevant to the COVID-19 crisis.

Impact of COVID-19 on venture capital investments

John Hanak, managing director, Purdue Ventures

As the managing director of Purdue Ventures and with more than 35 years of business experience, Hanak works with venture capital firms across the country to support economic growth through increased marketability of new technologies to global impact. He has a rich history in technology manufacturing and machine building as well as fundraising and investment strategies.

Business incubation and consulting with the U.S. Department of Defense

Tim Peoples, managing director, consulting, Purdue Foundry

As the founder and executive member of three startups and with more than 40 years of experience, Peoples knows how to start and grow a business. He is currently leading the industry, defense and startup consulting team, working with the Department of Defense, the Air Force Research Laboratory and many other clients to support technology transfer and new business development around novel innovations.
